WRESTLING

I wrestled for five years, in high school and in college. In high school, I earned the opportunity to compete in the California Interscholastic Federation Women's Wrestling Championships after my team got first place as team regionally for the Central Coast Section. My first year wrestling with Stony Brook University, I went to Allen, Texas to compete in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Finals. I placed 3rd and earned the title of All American Wrestler. Stony Brook's first All American Wrestler. The picture to the left was taken after my girl's team in high school placed first as a team and each member individually placed.

I love being outside surrounded by tall trees, breathing in the fresh air, and playing the game I love with my friends and family.  I have been playing Disc Golf for three years. I occasionally compete in local competitions with my dad, often not for the competition aspect but for the love of the game. To the right is a video taken of me throwing off of one of my favorite tees, at my home course of De Laveaga. I appreciate that in disc golf my biggest competitor is myself, constantly I am trying to improve my stance, throw, and score.

Every since I was a young girl my mother has instilled the values and importance of having a healthy body. When I was seven years old my mother signed me up for my first long distance race with her, it was 5k firecracker fundraiser on the Fourth of July.  I got first place in my age group for the first and last time, of course, I was the only person in my age group. In the fourteen years since then I have competed in hundreds of races, for my personal enjoyment and fitness and also to use it as a modem to raise money for various causes and charities. The picture to the left is of my mother and I after completing my first half marathon in Big Sur, California.
